Modern Oriental Binding Technique

This technique is very popular now in the bookbinding world as it keeps the signatures of the book untouched and allows working on the design on the covers before fixing the covers to the book. It allows a perfectly flat opening of the book.
Modern Oriental Binding is most effective on smaller books,( i.e. no more then 10-12 signatures.) The height dimension doesn’t matter. Pamphlets or 2-3 signatures are best to learn this technique with. It is also great for miniatures as well. Class is open to anyone with or without experience in bookbinding. Leather or paper or cloth can be used.
